its all in the bag

“I’ll be a bag lady. A designer bag lady, but a bag lady.”Who doesn’t remember that infamous phrase?
When Carrie Bradshaw arrives at the realization that she has failed to hold onto any type of savings account, and her entire life’s worth is in her closet and on her feet. An all too familiar feeling. Some people invest in the stock market, others in real estate. Me, I invest in bags. Not the most practical investment, I know, but I can’t help it. The market is leading me and I gladly follow! Who can resist - innovative shapes to sopisticated silhouettes with invigorating color palates that range from soft muted tones to eye-popping colors. A new bag makes you feel differnet, often playful and it brightens up any spring wardrobe, especially those that need to last another season!
To make choices more difficult there are small companies adding their ideas to fashion daily. Many
companies like Botkier, named after Monica Botkier are designed by women who have spent years looking at fashion and learning the subtleties that make it work. Monica worked as a fashion photographer shooting for magazines such as Surface and Mademoiselle. Inspired by her urban chic and busy downtown Manhattan lifestyle, Monica designed and produced her first handbag collection that resulted in immediate cult status.
The biggest edge of designer handbags is that it gives what it shows and promises. It doesn''t disappoint its user quality-wise. Designer handbags such as those created by Botkier, Goldenbleu, Kooba and Isabelle Fiore can be found at Boogie's Bags amd Belts, 405 South Hunter Street.
