LOOKING FOR SOMETHING INTERESTING TO DO?

With winter still delivering snow, rain and cold temperatures throughout much of the country, here are a few ideas of things to do indoors.
Cook
Been meaning to make your famous lamb stew, but you’re never home for the eight hours it takes to simmer properly? Or, how about the cake from scratch you’ve been threatening to make. Here’s your opportunity… put on your favorite stay at home outfit and hit the kitchen. Invite over a few friends to enjoy the fruits of your cooking adventure and smile.
Call A Friend
Forget emailing for the weekend and actually talk to someone. A former high school buddy or college roommate might be fun. Or, how about a relative you keep meaning to get in touch with. This is also a great opportunity to mend a fence or two with someone you miss talking to.
Board Games
Never underestimate the power of a board game. Whether it be Monopoly, Clue, Scrabble, or Risk a day can fly by and memories made. Only two of you - Chess, Checkers, or any number of games like Boggle can fill the void.
Popcorn and a Movie
If there’s nothing you want to see at the movies why not bring the movies into you? Not exactly rocket science, but how about making a fire, popping some corn, and watching a classic like Lawrence of Arabia, or Out of Africa? The point is to make it an event.
Read
Imagine having an entire day to read that book you haven’t quite gotten to, or re-read a favorite. Curl up on the couch, make a fire, pour yourself a glass of your favorite beverage, and maybe pull out the chocolate cookies. This weekend you could actually finish the book you start by making it your thing to do.
Early Spring-Cleaning
While spring-cleaning is not a favorite of most – imagine getting it out of the way. Why not go through your summer clothes and throw out about 1/3. To make this more of a fun event, do it while you sip down a few Martini’s. Sure you might get rid of something you’ll regret when you sober up, but you will also get rid of the stuff you keep saving when you’re sober and can rationalize it coming back into fashion - which it’s not.
Album Time
Pull out those old picture albums, or those boxes full of pictures you’ve been saving. Getting a look at your high school or college days, or friends you have forgotten will bring back memories and definitely a smile to your face.
These are just a few ideas of interesting ways you might spend the day or weekend inside your home. Making your home - truly “sweet”.
