Adopt Me!
The Aspen Animal Shelter is proud to be a privatized, no-kill shelter. The shelter provides a sanctuary for the homeless dogs and cats of Aspen and Pitkin County, the occasional bird or rabbit as well. Every pet is neutered and vaccinated prior to adoption.
Below you'll find our current four-legged pets looking for homes. Remember, in addition to adopting these wonderful companions, you can always swing by and take a dog for a walk. It's a great way to enjoy the company of a dog and give him some exercise and socialization. You can also hang out in the cat room and play with the kitties. Cody
Cody is a 1.5-year-old 16.5-pound mix male, a recent arrival from a California shelter. He was called a German Shepherd mix but it is hard to tell what mix he really is. He is really cute. He loves to be held and he clings tightly. He would be so happy to get a loving home and would do well with a fenced-in yard. Cody gets along well with other dogs and adores people. He will give back any love in spades.
Charlie
Charlie is a 1-year-old Labrador mix male with a gorgeous shiny black coat and striking kind eyes. Another
recent arrival from California, he has had a tough life and would thrive in a caring home. He is energetic and medium in size. Charlie is smart and will respond well to training. He is great with other dogs and people with his gentle and unassuming nature.
Mr. Snowball
Mr. Snowball is a 2-year-old male American Eskimo Dog who recently arrived here from California. He is very cute and has a slightly feisty nature typical of his breed. He gets along with other dogs. Mr. Snowball is very affectionate in spite of his previous tough life and would love to be adopted into a kind home.

Charlie
Oh, such a lovely character our resident Charlie—a calico of the most charming coloration—black, orange, white all over. She’s a soft-to-the-touch, generous personality whose longtime owner passed away in December. An easygoing friend seeking a new home in which to wile her charms. Although a little timid at first, Charlie seems to get along well with the other cats. She is extremely people-friendly. Female, approximately 10 years.
